Revision Time
You’re only as good as your last set.
That’s the golden rule that boom-bap, crunk and neo-soul wrecker DJ Revise instinctually abides by.
Revise has been on the scene for a minute but he never forgets the house parties and opening time slot at Pango Pango’s that paved the way for today.
‘I paid my dues and now my dues are paying me,’ says the uncrowned 808 mix-tape king.
Don’t mistake confidence for cockiness. He can’t help being hungry and ambitious. To satisfy his appetite and addiction to the grind, Revise is currently working on new styles of club deejaying. The formula is on the d-low at the moment but let’s just say he’s infusing DJ essentials with his personal twist. The end result is ‘a different sound from the norm.’
Not bad for someone who used to dig scratching a record more than the music that was actually on the record itself.
You can peep his steez on the 12s twice a month at Hip Hop at the Tropics at Tropics Diner and at the Gym Class Heroes show.
Because your final product may need more work than his first draft.
