Savage nation
Nicky Savage / Hawaii scenesters familiar with the name Nicky Savage know of his “go hard or go home approach.” For those that don’t, it’s time for you to come get some.
Heavily influenced by the eclectic party sounds of the ’80s and ’90s and just about everything in between, the Southern California kid is rocking this month’s edition of ARTafterDARK.
Savage, who also wrecks shop as a member of hip-hop electro crew Fiero, has received his fair share of mix tape praise from publications like Urb and 808’s own Contrast. On the Hawaii tip, Savage has collaborated with home-grown clothing company Olde Ivory as well as ripping it on a remix track for The Jump Offs.
With all the mixing and mashing about to go down, what’s wrong with adding a little mayhem, courtesy of Mr. Nicky Savage? Getting some never sounded so good.
Honolulu Academy of Arts, 900 S. Beretania St., Fri 2/26, 6pm–9pm, [artafterdark.org].
