No mainstream, please
DJ Mr. Nick / An advocate of beats of worldly expression, DJ Mr. Nick believes the emotional journeys are always well worth it when the elements of groove and sound come together. However, there is one exception that disrupts his music mojo.
“Anything but mainstream,” declares the KTUH General Manager and Chinatown jet set selector.
“I don’t feel that people if they are listening to their radio should be tormented by the same 12 songs on suicide rotation being spit out by DJs that don’t actually select the music, just to get to the next block of commercials all day,” he says. “It’s creating a cultural hole in the American social fabric.”
In other words, keep your “bomb,” brag that you’re “hot” and as far as Mr. Nick is concerned, be as “extreme” as you want to be and he will continue to look and laugh at the box you put yourself in.
Long live college radio.
