Weekend with Bernie
The best passions in life are the ones that are expressed and shared to the world. For Ernie Kanekoa, better known in nightlife pantheons as Bernie’s Diction, music serves as his heart, his pulse and the ideal catalyst for expression.
“I try to share my light by promoting good, intelligent music that brings people together,” Kanekoa explains.
Featured with his Asylum DJ crew family in the March issue of DJ Mag, the Arizona-raised, Kauai-bred DJ-producer takes pride in the national recognition without losing modesty. What drives Kanekoa even more is the role and responsibility in dampening the noise and enlightening the human spirit, one infectious beat at a time.
“The most important things DJing provides for my inner-soul are a sense of peace while feeling more connected with people of all types, from all different backgrounds,” he reveals. “Music is my passion, my mediation. It’s a way for me to connect with people on a different level, without words.”
Now that folks, is summarized perfection from Bernie’s Diction
