Good Life, Great Music
It’s easy to understand why the turntable skills of Jason Takahashi–aka DJ Jaytee–might be overlooked. He’s one of the most accomplished young entrepreneurs of style and promotions as the point man for the popular street fashion brand Good Life, but it’s his focus on progress that makes him a force to be reckoned with in the DJ world as well.
DJ Jaytee first started messing around with two turntables and a mixer in the pre-Serato age as a college grom at the University of Oregon. Upon his return to island nightlife, the only time you could hear him was at club parties he was promoting.
Recently, Jaytee’s party rock prowess has garnered more attention during his weekends at M Nightclub.
“I’ve come to realize that it’s important to be yourself and have your own personality show in the things you do,” he says. “When all is said and done, all bullshit aside, ‘real’ is all you will have left.”
As the newly appointed resident DJ at the stylish, recently renovated Michelle’s Bar, it’s safe to say that Jaytee’s life is going better than “good” these days.
