Gift Guide

So we’re all for playing outside and working up a sweat, but we’re also big fans of being big fans. One of the easiest presents for a sports fan is a team jersey. We particularly like going retro with this kind of gift. You could scour eBay or the Swap Meet for vintage UH gear, and even those who like vintage clothing more than they like, say, ice hockey, would appreciate an old-school Whalers hoodie. If you want to stay current, the merchandise that’s out there is nothing short of astounding. You can find pretty much any product–even m&ms–with a team logo stamped, stitched or otherwise emblazoned on it. UH fans that we are, we like the idea of receiving season football (or baseball or volleyball) tickets for 2010. Warriors football tickets don’t actually go on sale until this summer, but it’s the perfect opportunity to see how craftily you can depict an IOU. For equally generous gift-givers whose favorite sports fans might prefer the comfort of their own couches, we suggest looking into television packages like NFL Sunday ticket (or NBA League Pass for hoops fans). They’re not cheap but they give subscribers the chance to watch any and every game of the season in glorious high-def. Can you really even put a price on that?
