It's a cell phone thing:Stan Egi

Feed your ear!

Stan Egi is not shy about his Japanese heritage. In fact, he’s used it as a platform and punching bag for his well-known stand up comedy that has taken him to Hollywood and back. He was billed as the ‘Robin Williams of Japan’ for his spot on Late Night with David Letterman and entertained a 20- year acting career that included gigs on Broadway, off Broadway, in movies and on television.

Egi has been back on the rock since 2003, working on a graduate degree in directing and teaching beginning acting at the University of Hawai’i-Manoa. But the books haven’t kept him down. A comedian at heart, he continues performing weekly and on Friday, he makes a special one-night appearance headlining the next Late Night Comedy Spot at The Arts at Marks Garage
The one hour laugh fest will be hosted by award-winning comic Shawn Felipe and feature up and coming comic David Lee.

The Arts at Marks Garage, 1159 Nu’uanu Ave., Fri. 4/6, 10:30pm, $10 advance, $12 at the door, 550-TIKS or honoluluboxoffice.com, 521-2903.
