Public radio fans listen up: If you love to spend your Sunday mornings immersed in the echoes of Performance Today’s living room concert zen, then we’ve got the perfect way to start your weekly healing ritual early.
Shawn Livingston Moseley left the islands 15 years ago in search of expanding his natural talent. Nationally ranked as a classical pianist at the age of 8, the Punahou grad has returned from the mainland with composer, producer, engineer and even clothing designer added to his long list of achievements.
Before his departure, Moseley was the keyboardist for the Kailua-based roots rock reggae band, Dread Ashanti. No plans of a comeback, though, Moseley now explores slower tempos, including a series of albums designed to be used during acupuncture.
This Saturday night Hawai’i Public Radio will present Moseley in concert at the Atherton Performing Arts Studio. Modern slack key jazz group Evasive Species and Therapeutic Harp player Dr. Elizabeth Chen Christenson will join for the second half of the show.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit Sounding Joy Music Therapy, a non-profit organization that seeks to improve the quality of life in Hawai’i through the therapeutic uses of music.
