Love. It tends to get people in trouble. Look at Bryan Adams–everything he does he does for someone else. But love can also set you free (ask Brett Dennen) and it’s that aspect being celebrated this month at Hawaiian Adventures Water Park. The Love Festival, the 10th Annual Summer Island Massive, arrives Saturday, July 19, in full, funky splendor.
Double-O-Spot and Go Ventures are providing three stages with over 20 DJs and some of the sickest dance, trance and house music heard on this island since, well… last year.
If you crave a rave, check out the line-up at [thelovefestival.com]. We’ll give you a heads-up though: most of the performers are veterans behind the turntables. DJ Icey owns two record labels, DJ Reza is one of the “monsters” behind L.A.’s infamous Monster Massive Halloween Spooktacular, and G-Spot is a celebrity to us locals.
If you really want love to hit you hard, splurge for the VIP tickets, which for $75 get you exclusive backstage access, complimentary refreshments (worth more than 75 bucks, festival food prices being what they are), and free giveaways. And if at 4am you don’t want to stop in the name of love, stay up ’til sun-up at The Shop for the official after-party.
