Easy being green

Henry Kapono Kaaihue/Green Aloha Concert / A one-man institution in his own right, Henry Kapono Kaaihue has been a part of the local music scene for decades. But Kapono is still so full of life and music that it’s hard to believe he’s middle aged. Indeed, the Wild Hawaiian is as committed to his craft as ever–and he also uses his passion for music to promote his commitment to improving Hawaii nei. He’ll be performing, along with a slew of local talent, at the Green Aloha Concert at Walls in the sand by the outdoor stage in Waikiki.
If you’ve been lucky enough to have the experience of slam poet Kealoha’s words, here’s another chance. And we can’t forget to mention that Jasmine Trias will share the same stage with Kenny Endo’s taiko drums. That’s only a hint of what will come.
