Connect and collaborate

M.I.A. Art / In last week’s Winter Books issue, we featured recent releases from homegrown writers. The range of genres was dizzying–poetry, politics, art criticism, linguistics and personal histories, to name just a few–and the quality impressive. Who knew such a small island was bristling with so many literary savants? This Wednesday, check out the up-and-coming breed of local talent at M.I.A. Art & Literary Series, a monthly event at Mercury Bar, which gives the local literary and art community space to share, connect and collaborate with fellow artists and writers. Renowned figures like Susan Schultz, the founder of Tinfish Press will be present, along with Van Gogh, an expressive line of vodkas on special for this event.
