Living on an island, it’s easy to feel isolated from the rest of the world. Taking a tip from John Donne, the Honolulu Academy of Arts is bringing the world to Hawaii at the 28th Annual World Art Bazaar. From Nov. 28 to Dec. 13, the Academy Art Center’s breezy gallery will be transformed into a transnational boutique featuring one-of-a-kind crafts. For starters, peruse Bollywood-ready, hand-painted enamel earrings and necklaces from Rajasthan, or admire the craftsmanship of vintage Ikebana baskets from Japan ($79 to $295). All pieces were hand selected by Academy Shop Manager Kathee Hoover with the intent of highlighting the beauty of traditional crafts from diverse pockets of the globe. Proceeds will directly support programs at the Honolulu Academy of Arts.
