Keeping it street
Celebrate Kaimuki Kanikapila Craft Fair and Street Festival / Psst. Can you hear that? The carols, the sleigh bells, the sound of millions of heathens stomping through Ala Moana Shopping Center in mass hysteria?
Before getting into a tizzy, get a head start checking names off your Christmas list at the Celebrate Kaimuki Kanikapila Craft Fair and Street Festival, this Saturday on Waialae Avenue. Take in the craftsmanship of local businesses like Night Owl Jewelry, which specializes in hip, nature-inspired pieces, or Paint the Town, which features colorful hand-painted designs on wood-crafted jars. ‘Ono kine grindz from Café Laufer and Kaimuki Grill will keep your stomach smiling, and they’ll even be grub for your dog thanks to Waggin’ Bakery. Tired of walking? Two stages at Kaimuki park host entertainment from the likes of local musician Jeff Rasmussen and 15-year-old ‘ukulele/shamisen artist Kaeo Shiroma–the perfect way to take in the mid-afternoon breeze after a day of festivities.
