MAE day in Hawaii

Pipeline Cafe / With a name like Multi-Sensory Aesthetic Experience, fans are sure to thank their lucky stars for the acronym MAE. The Virginia-based group makes its return to Honolulu this month, pushing the independently released CD/DVD (m)orning. It has been rumored that the limited edition version of the disc is a scratch-and-sniff, meant to be scented like the ocean. However, disc or no disc, smelling the ocean from Pipeline Cafe shouldn’t be a problem. Fans that were here for the band’s last visit in 2005 should be prepared for a refreshing experience, with some changes in MAE’s touring line-up plus support by electronica/pop opener, Owl City. Honolulu will have this opportunity to get a taste of Owl City before Minnesotan Adam Young debuts his project in Europe in early 2010. With new releases from both acts, one can pick up a few stocking stuffers and still rock out, guilt free.
