Whatever formula dance-oriented bearded male DJ duos use, it seems to be working like a charm. And it’s probably not just the soul patch. The Canadian group Jokers of the Scene is a part of said phenomenon, bringing its own decidedly 21-century sound in electronic music. Drawing from house, ’90s techno and heavily modified bass lines, the duo of Bob and Doug McKenzie remix underground numbers with enough head-throbbing beats that make you feel more like you’re in a cement loft in 2009 rather than lost in the glow stick-laden woods circa 1995. With such remix success, Jokers has put out the album Fool’s Gold for hungry ears to get their JOTS fill all at once.
