2010 Stand Up World Tour / Beginning this weekend, some of the best stand-up paddlers from around the globe will be showing off their skills at the Sunset Beach Pro. It’s fitting that the contest, which is part of the 2010 Stand Up World Tour, begins in Hawaii, where stand-up paddling has its roots. The sport is an ancient Hawaiian tradition, but only recently regained popularity here and elsewhere.

In addition to the main event, there will be a trials event and a youth exhibition. After Hawaii, the tour will head to France, Tahiti and California. Catch it while you can.
