You Give Me Good, Good Irie Love
Concerts & Clubs / Just because us townies can’t all pop in to Haleiwa Joe’s every weekend doesn’t mean it’s not fun. It really just means we’re all blowing it. If there was ever a time to peep the neighborhood bar and let the locals in the country start getting familiar with your face it’s this Friday for Irie Love. It only takes one listen to the Kailua native’s hip-hoppie-island-reggae-R&B-ish crooning to recognize her global talent. Working as a backup singer for pop star Pink and R&B diva Chaka Khan while studying music in Los Angeles was really just prep work for Love’s habitation in Jamaica, where you can hear the influence of her unique genre being identified as “Ragga Pop.” This special Haleiwa Joe’s performance will also include sounds and collaboration with DJ Adam Bone of Bonafide Sound System. Expect dancehall, reggae, hip hop, and R&B or as I like to call it: the funnest/sexiest/easiest music to dance to ever. Happy hour starts at the same time the show does, so plan to get there at 10pm and stay until closing.
