Where No Mutts Strut
Live from Honolulu is the Hawaiian Kennel Club’s 173rd and 174th All Breed Fall Shows, where scores of dogs representing over 70 breeds will compete to win “Best in Show.” And because dog shows only get better every year, this event will feature a new award, “Reserve Best in Show.”
Hawaiian Kennel Club president Gerri Cadiz tells the Weekly that she hopes the public can witness the healthy, well-cared-for and groomed dogs skillfully display their natural and trained talents, especially after a bust last year at an Oahu puppy mill, where over 150 dogs were confiscated–tragic news that, for a while, gave other dog breeders a bad rap.
This year’s dog show hopes for redemption, featuring the All-Breed Fall Shows with day number three all about the Valley Isle Kennel Club of Maui. Get your canine kicks at this family-friendly event, hosted by the longest running kennel club west of the Rockies.
