Extras / A cornucopia of pleasures is promised at the upcoming debut of Oahu Brewfest, hosted at Paradise Cove in the Ko Olina Resort. In conjunction with Halloween week, Brewfest will celebrate the spooky and the entertaining, highlighting the offerings of more than forty beers from over twenty-five different breweries–Kona Brewing Co.,

Aloha Beer Company and Hawaii Nui Brewing–to name a few local contributors. In addition, Brewfest will be offering grub from select restaurants like Ryan’s Grill, Tanioka’s, Kona Brewing Co. and more.

In the middle of the event, there will be a collaborative fashion show between 2 local designers, Tiare Tieti and Honey Girl. Event coordinator Keola Lloyd says the show will be a perfect “match for the beachside venue,” with models clad in swim wear and island-style clothing.

There will also be a Halloween Costume Contest, open to all. With the night being just 4 days before trick-o-treat, Brewfest is offering prizes for costumes that win most creative, funniest and scariest categories. Presumably, since Brewfest is targeted to the 21+ crowd, we don’t expect any kiddie costumes.

Look for the special cigar tent, hosted by Fujioka’s Wine & Spirits. An additional price will get you 2-3 cigars and spirits. Lloyd says that previous cigar tents have rotated through different prices, and Fujioka’s has been flexible with smaller prices if guests purchase more.

If exploring beers beyond normal reach is your fancy, be sure seize the night at Brewfest.
