Lonely No More
Concerts & Clubs / Texican rock ’n’ roll is not that common in Honolulu, despite your best friend’s drunken karaoke version of “Heaven,” by Los Lonely Boys. The brothers of LLB–Henry, JoJo and Ringo–took home a Grammy in 2005 for the song.
Rockpango is the band’s first studio release on its LonelyTone imprint for Playing in Traffic Records after years of touring and vocal strain (JoJo developed lesions on his vocal cords in 2010). Featuring songs such as “Fly Away” and “16 Monkeys,” the album showcases the boys’ party-rock side (Rockpango is, after all, a word they made up to mean “rock party”) as much as blues and classic rock.
Let us hope it’ll be windy enouogh that night to see the Garza brothers’ deep mahogany locks flowing in the breeze. For a chance to win two VIP tickets to the show, visit [HonoluluWeekly.com] (through 2/28. Winners announced 3/1). Muy caliente!
