That was a fine piece of enterprise journalism on the part of Adrienne LaFrance (“Roll call,” 2/3), and a public service to boot.

My favorite rationale on the civil unions voice vote–and there were so many–came from Waikiki Rep. Tom Brower: “My preference is no and I was thinking no, but I didn’t say anything.”

As local elections approach, I hope Honolulu Weekly will also report on the campaign contributions made to state House and Senate candidates so that voters may further distinguish which of our lawmakers are brave and which are bigots.
