Bring back the statesmen
The homeless are not a problem. They are the result of a problem. And that problem? Not enough people care to do something to help. This ranges throughout society, from the politician who passes stupid laws, to the parent who teaches a child to shun the homeless because they’re not “nice.”
Of course they’re not nice! With roof, food and medical assistance denied the by politicians, they don’t have time to be “nice.” Rather than help, many politicians like Councilman [Charles] Djou brand them as illegal. Of course they are, thanks to the politicians who pass those laws.
Oddly, the fact that Councilman [Gary] Okino says the Bible is a legally binding text doesn’t seem to bother Djou or any of the others. Some of you may remember the word “statesman.” All we have now is “politician,” which was always considered an insult, and rightly so.
