Bird Resurge
Sadly, the wildlife in my island of Jersey, British Isles, is not faring so well [“Fence Me In,” Aug. 29] and we look upon such measures as an answer. Sadly, the authorities here are not so supportive.

The predator fence is the best thing to happen to the fragile and unique ecosystem of Kaena. It should be extended to the beginning of the unpaved road on either side of park.

What about the people of Kaena? There were so many mistakes made over the course of building the predator fence. Many Hawaiians raised questions regarding the project, its alignment, the conversations (or lack thereof) surrounding it. I was the Kaena Point Resource Ambassador for DLNR and tried to reach across to both sides and, it was always a one way conversation . . .
