Bus betta
Re: Tom Luna’s letter [“More Transportation Woes,” Oct. 17] From what I can see from the combined maps of Lines 4 and 13, if you are starting from Kuhio Avenue, you only need to take the 13 bus to go to the Manoa campus where the 4 still stops. The 13 bus, which runs every 20 minutes, runs along Kuhio, Kapahulu, Kaimuki past Market City Shopping Center, Kapiolani, Waialae, St. Louis, Dole (past the UH dorms) and University Avenue (main campus) to Maile Way and Oahu Avenue. It then loops around Oahu and Kaala to get back to University Avenue for the return trip to Waikiki. The 4 bus (every 30 minutes) still runs through Metcalf and University to University, Date, Citron and McCully. However, now instead of turning left at Kalakaua to go through Waikiki, it now turns right, passing the Waikiki Landmark building and the Convention Center before turning right at Kapiolani to return to University Avenue.
