To our leaders
Dear Mayor Caldwell,
Thank you so much for your withdrawal nomination for Gary Okino.
I am amazed that a Japanese/American could make such such bigoted comments on the gay, lesbian, and transgendered community, when a short time ago in our history, similar things were projected on the Japanese/American community. Shame on you Gary Okino.

I don’t think Governor Abercrombie’s decision to appoint Schatz to the Senate was particularly wise, just a Calvin Say-style shout of, “That old man can’t tell me what to do anymore!”
Schatz has an history of ignoring what is best for his constituents, Hawaii, and the USA to support what is best for the Democratic Party, and the last thing Congress needs is another member who puts Party (and lobbyists) before people and what is best for our grandchildren.
We need people in Congress at least bright enough to understand that a government “for the people” is for the people!
A far better choice would have been Cayetano, who could protect and promote Hawaii’s interests during the next two years whilst Hawaii senatorial candidates do battle.
Instead of making such a contribution to our future, Schatz is more likely to be like Charles Djou and focus entirely upon making the best use of Congressional resources to ensure his election two years hence.
We all know what happened to Charles Djou!
