The Kauai island and where I grew up in Koolaupoko was inundated by pesticides (“Pesticide info,” March 6). DDT and Agent Orange cause extreme kills for environment as well as humans and animals. I left Koolaupoko because of the DDT that was sprayed into the air as I was growing up. We use to sweat [chemicals] during recess and our haole teachers would tell Principal Boudin how stink we smelled. The children I grew up with buried their parents, their children, grandchildren and themselves. This story is true, but who is listening.
