You know that Farmers’ Markets are the latest rage when they show up in the middle of Waikiki. The management of the International Market Place has started a market (near the food court) replete with lei makers, farmers and a wide variety of prepared foods. Included are island favorites like pastele and laulau, which are infrequently seen in touristland. Vendors include Da Spot, Mahiku Farm, The Bread of Life and Manny’s Bakeshop. Thursdays, 4–8pm. Whole Foods Market will distribute 50 tickets per day (first come, first served) to a special screening of Julie and Julia from July 22 through July 26. Keep an eye on the Weekly for more opportunities to get passes for pre-release screenings.
