Mobile malasadas
Leonard’s beloved Malasadamobile will now be making regular appearances at Aloha Tower for one week every month. The first cycle will run Sunday, September 27 to Saturday, October 3, from 7am to 9pm. Look for the wagon at Irwin Park, at the front of the Marketplace.
Not quite 300
Guinness 250 is a limited-edition brew released in celebration of, well, 250 years of creamy goodness. The special beer is carbonated and maltier, lending itself to a refreshing pint with a bit of a bite. J.J. Dolan’s and Murphy’s have already run out of their rations. Try your luck at O’Toole’s Pub, Irish Rose Saloon, Kelley O’Neil’s and Foodland.
Edible bits
The Olive Tree will be closed through October 4 while the staff enjoys its annual vacation.
Slow down
Through September 30, a membership to Slow Food USA will cost you whatever amount you’d like to donate. Slow Food Oahu offers excursions to places such as Honolulu’s fish auction and Waianae’s Kaala Farm, cooking lessons and more. Visit [slowfoodusa.org]/.
Editor’s note: Honolulu Weekly Publisher Laurie V. Carlson is president of Slow Food Oahu.
