Make a gingerbread structure (some people go way beyond houses) at Easter Seals Hawaii’s 10th Annual Gingerbread Family Festival. Napoleon’s Bakery donates six pallets of gingerbread and Easter Seals volunteers create kits ($39) that include candy and icing. You bring the creativity. For reservation forms go to [www.eastersealshawaii.com]. Registration deadline is Dec. 4.
You can drink for a good cause too, by buying bottles from New Zealand winemaker Wild Rock, which thought Triple Crown season would be a good time for a Hawaii marketing blitz (does Joel Centeio partake of the grape?). You’ll find Wild Rock’s Sauvignon Blanc, rosé and Pinot Noir at Malama Market and Pupukea Foodland on the North Shore. A portion of sales goes to SurfAid International, which funds health programs for the locals in developing-country surf spots such as Indonesia’s Mentawai Islands. You can also attend the SurfAid International Fundraising Party Dec. 11 at the Billabong House at Off the Wall. Sample Wild Rock wines and nibble on Starpoint Café food. Reservations: 497-1745.
