Comidas nuevas: Soul de Cuba isn’t the only Cuban joint in town anymore. La Habana, in the space that was Mulvadi Café, opened in January. Mulvadi Corp. is still partner in the restaurant, they’ve just swapped out burritos for ropa vieja. All entrees come with rice and beans or moros (rice and beans mixed up together) and a bit of salad. The takeout business is brisk. And it serves breakfast too–didn’t know Spam was part of an authentic Cuban wake-up call! La Habana, 3040 Waialae Ave, at St. Louis Hts. Dr., 626-5087

Green drinks: RumFire’s serving two special St. Patrick’s Day libations: The Sham-Rocked (Midori, Bailey’s, Bushmills) $5 and the Irish Car Bomb (Bailey’s, Bushmills, Guinness) $6. You can eat your beer too: Special tapas of the night is chipotle-Guinness-braised short ribs for $16. RumFire, Sheraton Waikiki, 921-4600

Free food for kids: Tired of ordering food for your picky little eaters when they don’t touch it but you still have to pay for it? Prince Resorts restaurants feel your pain. The offer goes for the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel too.

Beyond açai: Following up on its popular açai bowl, Jamba Juice introduces the chocolate strawberry bowl and the protein berry bowl. Through May 1, Jamba Juice will donate 25 cents from every protein berry bowl sold ($5.95 for 16-ounce, $6.95 for 24-ounce) to Hawaii Pedal Power, a statewide coalition made up of nonprofit bicycle and pedestrian advocacy groups from every county in Hawaii. The new bowls, served only in Hawaii, are available at all locations except the University of Hawaii.
