Food News / Naked, But Not Alone. Naked Cow Dairy cheese is proliferating. The Whole Ox is carrying their feta; creamy Naked Farmer cheese is now included in Oahu Fresh member baskets; and Kokua Market is offering seven varieties, from Big Cream Little Rind (you’ll think you died and went to Brie) to Vegetarian Feta (no lipase or animal rennet).
Wrap It Up. If you followed our advice and planted a garden this year, you’re about to get a surprise: the late-summer bonanza of produce. Get Your Mango On. Mangoes at the Moana, the fourth annual celebration of locally grown mango cultivation and consumption is scheduled for 10am-5pm July 21 at the Moana-Surfrider Westin Resort & Spa. Enter a Best Mango (whole fruit) or Mango Recipe (baked goods and all others) Contest, see a cooking demonstration by cake master Hector Wong, attend horticultural seminars, nosh your way through the Mango Throw Down featuring a dozen well-known chefs, or check out the Mango Cocktail Mixdown pitting local mixologists against each other.
