This is the Japanese folk tale about a boy borne (and born) within a peach who joins up with a dog, a pheasant and a monkey to go to battle with ogres. Suggested ages 5 and up. Notable: live action anime-style.

Honolulu Theatre for Youth pulls off a grand slam by featuring poems from Windward CC’s Hawaii’s Star Poets, a contest that gives local students a literary voice. Ages 8 and up. Notable: open mic opportunities at some shows.
Tasi’s Gift: The Tale of a Samoan Bowl
The story of a young girl learning from her grandfather how to carve bowls. Notable: written by local playwrights Aito and Jamie Simpson-Steele.
