Dock of the bay
Food Notes / Recently, a new lineup of locavore restaurant offerings have opened on the Windward side, including The Grove, Cactus, Prima–and Heeia Kea Pier Market & Deli. The last, on a pier leased from the state, is perhaps the most surprising. We’re excited that Slow Foodies are beginning to take over operations that would have never served anything local at all, perhaps with the exception of fish. Now there’s taro and ulu potato salad, guava chicken and Kawehi hamburgers.
Kudos to Mark (“Gooch”) Noguchi and Russ Inouye for upgrading public food.
Next up–can someone akamai about fresh whole food choices please bid on the Zoo concession?
